Fiber optic splitters installed FOSC cassettes, D5/72, 1:8, 9/125/250, PLC, HS
Fiber optic splitters 1:8 pre-installed in FOSC cassettes D5/72 ready for splicing.
Splitters and xWDM are delivered pre-installed in FOSC cassettes. They may be delivered installed in the splice closure or as cassettes for later installation in the customers splice closure. Both splitter and xWDM handles signals in both directions (i.e. split or combine for splitter and multiplex or de-multiplex for xWDM). There are 4 types of cassettes:
• OCC1x fits in the splice closures FOSC-400A4/24/48, FOSC-400A8/24/96, FOSC-400A2G/24/48, FOSC-400B2G/24/144 and FOSC-400D5G/24/288
• A4/24 fits in the splice closures FOSC-400A4/24/48, FOSC-400A8/24/96, FOSC-400A2G/24/48, FOSC-400B2G/24/144 and FOSC-400D5G/24/288
• B4/24 fits in the splice closures FOSC-400B4/24/96, FOSC-400B4/24/144 and FOSC-400D5/24/288
• D5/72 fits in the splice closures FOSC-400D5/72/576 and FOSC-400D5G/72/576
Depending of type of cassette and splice closure there will be room for several components on each cassette. This is limited by both space on the cassettes and number of cable entrances in the splice closure.
If few fibres in each cable are used the number of cable entrances typically will be the limiting factor. For the splice closures A2G, B2G and D5G gel seals may be used to enable more cables in each entrance. Alternatively the use of more fibres in each cable may avoid that the entrances are the limitation. Number of components will then be limited by the physical space on one or mare cassettes. The storage basket (where exists) may also be used for installation of components.
