Foss hosts delegation from the Slovak Ministry of Defence

Foss Fibre Optics recently welcomed representatives from the Slovak Ministry of Defence and The Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic (AKI) to discuss advanced fiber optic technologies for critical infrastructure protection, including the growing potential of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS).

On July 20, 2026, Foss Fibre Optics hosted representatives from the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic and The Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic (AKI) at the company's production facilities.

The visit began with a guided tour of our manufacturing facilities, providing an overview of Foss' production capabilities and expertise in fiber optic solutions. This was followed by a presentation of the company's product portfolio, technologies, and ongoing developments within the field of fiber optic communications.

A key topic of the meeting was the use of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology for perimeter protection and critical infrastructure monitoring. The discussion focused on how fiber optic sensing systems can provide continuous, real-time monitoring of sensitive areas, enabling early detection of intrusions and supporting the protection of military installations and other critical assets.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss future cooperation in the field of defense and critical infrastructure, where reliable fiber optic technologies play an increasingly important role.
